Trip tips

The Charles Bridge (Karlův most) is a historic bridge that crosses the Vltava river. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the beginning of the 15th century. It is a second oldest bridge in the Czech Republic.

The Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) or colloquially Staromák is a historic square in the Old Town quarter located between Wenceslas Square and the Charles Bridge. You can find there many Prague monuments especially the famous Prague Orloj (medieval astronomical clock)

The Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) is a castle complex dating from the 9th century. It is the official office of the President of the Czech Republic. The castle was a seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia. Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world.

The Petřín Lookout Tower (Petřínská rozhledna) is a 63.5-metre-tall steel-framework tower, which strongly resembles the Eiffel Tower and therefore we called it “small Eiffel Tower.” :) It offers spectacular views of the city. You can get there by the Petřín funicular from the Újezd station, the ride is covered by the standard public transport ticket.

Old Jewish Cemetery is the largest Jewish cemetery in Europe. It served its purpose from the first half of 15th century till 1786. You can see it from the Venue building. ;-)
