Igor Jex

Prof. Igor Jex  is the current Dean of FNSPE, CTU in Prague which is an educational and scientific centre specialised in boundary fields between modern science and their practical applications in technologies, medicine, economy, biology, ecology and other fields.

He studied Physical Engineering at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague where he was focused on the problems from the field of Quantum Optics. Since 1996, prof. Igor Jex has been working at the Department of Physics, FNSPE CTU in Prague. After several years of hard work and many academic experience (work in the group of prof. Schleich at the University of Ulm, visiting fellow with prof. Barnett in Glasgow)  he was appointed the Professor of Physics in 2003.

Recently, he was elected by board of the Optical Society to the group Fellows of the Society for his contribution to the field. He is also an active supporter of young scientists and he often gives popular talks, occasionally in cooperation with Young Minds.
